Typical Client Outcomes

The typical outcomes that I help my clients achieve are:

• Increased self-awareness, a sense of calm, peace, and balance
• Less reactivity and more pro-activity
• Ability to look at things more objectively and from different angles
• Greater sense of confidence and purpose
• Enhanced decision-making and leadership skills
• Improvement in productivity and, overall satisfaction with work and life
• More effective interpersonal skills and relationships (including enhanced attorney-client communication and relationships)

International Coaching Federation studies report a stunning 99% client satisfaction rate with coaching. An ICF Global Coaching Client Study commissioned by ICF but performed independently by PricewaterhouseCoopers shows that most coaching clients reported improved work productivity, better business management, and better time-management. They also reported greater self-confidence, enhanced relationships, more effective communication skills, better work-and-life balance and an improvement in wellness. According to the same report, an individual client who achieved financial benefit from coaching can typically expect a Return on Investment (ROI) of more than three times the amount spent. The vast majority of companies (86 percent) stated that they, at least, made their investment back. One-fifth (19 percent) saw a ROI of 50 times their investment, while another 28 percent saw a ROI of 10-49 times the investment.

FAQ - Co-Active Coaching

What is Co-Active Coaching?

Coaching is an advanced form of communication wherein the relationship is focused entirely on the client. In a series of confidential sessions, I work with you to discover who you are, what you want, what makes you come alive, and what is important to you. I actively listen for what is stopping you, what is going to get you to where you want to go and more.

Coaching is unlike therapy in that it is focused on the now and on creating your future. The International Coaching Federation defines coaching as “partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential.” Coaching is a professional partnership based on confidentiality, trust and safety.

Imagine a relationship where someone is completely truthful with you. I create a safe container for self-exploration and encourage you to get out of your comfort zone. I also offer different perspectives when you are stuck to see that, at every moment of every day, you can live powerfully from a place of choice.

FAQ - Re Mediation

What is Mediation?

Mediation shares the Latin root “medicus” with the words medicine and meditation, meaning “to cure.” Mediation offers the best chance to cure conflict through dialogue and discourse. The process itself is informal and confidential. I sit in as a neutral, objective third-party with the intention of facilitating communication between disputing parties. Unlike a judge or jury, I do not decide who is right or wrong. I do not give out legal advice. I facilitate in restoring dialogue and engaging in creative problem-solving where there has been a breakdown in communication.

If you would like further information respecting mediation, you can find it in my book “Healing Conflict” (2012), available on www.amazon.com.

How Successful is Mediation?

It has an about 90% success rate, whether it takes one or several sessions. Most people leave the process feeling much better off than they would if they had gone through a court battle.

What Happens if the Parties Settle Their Case in Mediation?

If the parties enter into a settlement agreement, the agreement is enforceable as a contract.

Is it Necessary to be represented by an Attorney during Mediation?

It is advisable to be represented but it is not necessary. I also recommend that the participants have any settlement agreement independently reviewed by their own counsel prior to signing it.

At What Point is Mediation Appropriate?

A dispute may be mediated at any time after it has arisen.

What Type of Cases Do You Specialize In Mediating?

My background in law is mostly in business and real estate litigation. I am most comfortable handling breach of contract cases, collection cases, partnership disputes, landlord-tenant disputes, neighbor disputes, easement issues, premises liability, products liability matters, and the like. I am open to sitting in on a collaborative panel in a family law matter as a life-coach/mediator.

How Much Does Mediation Cost?

Please request our latest rate sheet. Generally, the parties split the costs of mediation equally, but other arrangements will be honored if communicated in advance.
